Josh Smith Looking to Make Trips
According to Husky Digest sources Josh Smith has not committed to UCLA, nor is he likely to be in the near future. He is in fact looking to make a number of visits in August, according to an unconfirmed report from an anonymous source with strong ties in the national basketball scene.
The word from this and other sources are that Smith’s parents are pushing him to UCLA, from what we are hearing, but Josh really likes Romar and UW. Josh is looking to visit UCLA, Texas, Louisville, UConn and Kentucky, but will also stay in touch closely with what is going on in town at the Dub.
Another kid who is high on U-Dub’s list for 2010 is SoCal guard Keala King. King is getting hit on by numerous elite schools from across the country, but is a high priority for UW and is very interested in the Dawgs.
King is a tall combo guard that can really shoot, handle and distribute and our opinion is that he could be compared to other tall PG’s in the mold of Jalen Rose, Jerryd Bayless and Derrick Jaspers.
One source told us that King is UW’s top priority right now.
One guy who is not UW’s top priority is Vashon’s John Gage. Husky Digest was informed by an excellent source that though Scout has reported a ton about all of UW’s interest and offers, that Gage does not have a UW offer and is not really being watched hard by UW, except for the fact that he is in-state and local.
The UW coaches are always open to guys getting better or “Blowing up”, but at the moment, King, of course Smith, Gary Franklin, Anthony Brown and a number of others are much higher priorities.
