Husky Men’s Hoops Enters Coaches’ Top 25
Washington ranked 22nd in AP poll, 25th in ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll
SEATTLE (Feb. 2, 2009) - After winning 14 of its last 16 games and earning a split during its recent trip to Arizona, the University of Washington men’s basketball team entered the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ top 25 poll this week.
The Huskies, rated 25th in the coaches poll, moved up to 22nd in the Associated Press rankings after defeating then 14th-ranked Arizona State 84-71 last weekend in Tempe. The Sun Devils dropped to 24th by the AP.
UCLA is the only other Pac-10 team in the rankings, earning a No. 12 ranking by the coaches and No. 15 position by the AP.
